In the event of a breakdown, our expertise in these matters ensures safety and peace of mind. Safety is a key aspect when operating a lift system, which is subject to statutory regulations. For example, employers who provide an elevator for their staff are required by law to carry out a risk assessment. Prior to putting the elevator into operation, the law stipulates that hazards and safety measures are specified through the risk assessment. In the event of deviations from the state of the art or if hazards are identified, three deadlines are set during which measures must be implemented, depending on their classification. The risk assessment is only judged to be legally compliant and complete if these specific safety measures have been undertaken within the correct timeframe and have been signed by the operating authority.   Sole responsibility for the safe operation of a lift installation according to the latest standards in technology lies with the operator – with no right of continuance. The responsibility for the provision of a risk assessment lies with the elevator’s operator. In the absence of a risk assessment or by failing to implement the proper measures, the lift operator is liable.
